We are used to Hyper cars selling out but the upcoming Mercedes-AMG Project One Hyper-car has sold out even before any official pictures have been released. Although the lucky few who have the money to be potential buyers have already had the opportunity to take a look at the car, during a customer event at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The Mercedes-AMG Project One Hypercar will be a limited run of only 275 cars and a price-tag of $2.4 million.
Those wishing to register their interest in the Mercedes-AMG Project One Hyper-car had until March 17th to get their name into the hat. With the deadline passed Mercedes bosses are in the process of selecting the luck few from the list.
Melissa Witek, a project manager for the hypercar project at Mercedes-AMG, gave a little insight into the selection process and indicated that the brand is looking at criteria such as long-time loyal Mercedes-Benz customers that don’t shy away from the occasional track meetings and public events.
Witek further commented that the car shown to potential customers in Geneva wasn’t the full running production car, but the design is around 85 percent complete.
