LaFerrari Unveiled at Geneva 2013

Geneva 5th March 2013 saw Ferrari present it eagerly anticipated LaFerrari, billed as the fastest most modern car in the history of Ferrari. The LaFerrari will be pitted against the Enzo as Ferrari’s car of the decade.

Apart from the name “Ferrari LaFerrari” this is a truly awesome car destined to become the poster on many a Childs wall all over the world. This car has been in the making for 10 years and the result is a hybrid car that, with its V12 6.3 cm3 using technology taken directly from their F1 car will perform.

 LaFerrari Hybrid

The internal combustion engine puts out 800HP and will spin up to to 9250 rev. / Min, coupled with an additional electric drive unit delivering an additional 163 hp that uses braking energy recovery (KERS). Thanks to Ferraris lightweight construction the LaFerrari accelerates to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds, reaching 200 km / h in less than 7 seconds and a top speed of over 350 km / h. Compared to the Enzo the LaFerrari consumes less while the Co2 emission has been lowered by 50%.

The impressive performance is one part, and only to be expected from Ferrari, but the LaFerrari certainly stands out from their current line-up and more importantly looks better than the Enzo it replaces as Ferraris flagship model.

Now for the bad bit, the production run is set at 499 and the LaFerrari already oversubscribed with over 700 potential orders from wealthy buyers. This car only goes to prove the saying that money makes money as the selected few that will get their hands on this car will inevitably make a profit as the rarity of the car will keep residual values high
